The Junior section should be an integral part of the membership and is fundamental to the future health of the indoor bowling club.

It is essential that clubs adopt good practice when dealing with young people and ensure that their safety is paramount.

Club Matters is Sport England’s one stop shop for clubs in the delivery of physical activity and sport. Club Matters provides free, convenient, practical resources to help organisations to develop, grow and become more sustainable and successful. Club Matters is split into four topics: Finances, Management, Marketing & Volunteers.

English Bowls Youth Development Scheme (EBYDS)

The EBYDS was introduced to provide a pathway to enable children and young people to participate in the Sport of Bowls and to develop their potential to whatever appropriate level they so wish.

The Scheme provides a series of County Invitation Singles events followed by Regionals finals leading to the National Finals.

This competitions is Open to all young bowlers who have not attained the age of 18 years on or by 30th September 2021.

The competition will be run in two sections:

  • Juniors who have attained the age of 8 years but not 14 years on or by 30th September 2021.
  • Seniors who have attained the age of 14 years but not 18 years on or by 30th September 2021.

During the event all of the players will participate in a series of matches and skills tests to determine the winners, see below for more details.
